Masking Requirements

We understand that misinformation is being communicated in regard to masking requirements in the Spring Cove School District.  Our Health and Safety Plan, which is posted on our website at, provides the accurate information.  That plan states, “Masks/face coverings are optional for all individuals (staff, students, parents/guardians, and visitors), regardless of vaccination status, in District offices, classrooms and at school-sponsored events per expiration of the PA required mandate.  The District will require compliance with any state or federal orders which require masks/face coverings on public transportation, including buses and vans.  All school vehicles will maintain a supply of masks.”  Currently, masks ARE mandated by federal order on public transportation. The PA Dept. of Education has reiterated that our school vehicles ARE considered public transportation.  Therefore, as long as the federal mandate is in effect, our District will comply with requiring masks on school buses/vans.  Should that mandate be removed in the future, masking on buses/vans would become optional at that time.
